Pours a hazy orange with a very thin, bubbly head that dissipated quickly to a ring with only a bit of lacing. I honestly wasn’t too impressed with the appearance. The aroma seems to have a heavy sweet maltiness that overpowers any hop aroma. In fact, there’s not a lot of hops in the nose at all. The taste was bitter and acidic but not in a hoppy way. It tastes almost oxidized though the best by date is pretty far off. The taste had very little hoppiness and more malts and booze than anything. The mouthfeel was a little thin with almost no carbonation. This was not a very good DIPA in my book though maybe this one had gone bad. I’ll try some of their other IPAs and see what I think. Citrus and faint notes of yeast and wood appear as it warms. Round, strong flavour. Lots of hops. Remotely grainy, but not bad. You can feel the alcohol, but remarkably well-balanced considering the high percentage. Finish is all hops baby. Long, strong bitterness. Slightly oily palate. 30-04-08. Taste butter, turns into butterscotch. Very bitter, but not very balanced. The finish is long but for me a bit unpleasant. Well, at least it had alcohol. Aroma - Very piney hops start off, some woody and grassy aromas follow, with some citrus fruit as well
Appearance - Clear yellow gold pour, fleeting, foamy, white head.
Flavor - Pleasing caramel and toffee flavors combine with some fruitiness to bring out the sweetness. A soft, gentle bitterness rouonds things out. Nice balance.
Palate - Medium body, light carbonation, pleasingly dry in a medium/long finish.
Overall - A unique character compared to its American counterparts, but smooth, pleasing, and drinkable. Seems underappreciated to me. Garrat (1132), Suffolk, England

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Pours a moderately not really hazy, more of an inversion of sunny orange in the glass. Absolutely no head, but the aroma is lively citrus and a light sugar cookie maltiness. Piney, citrus hops and a flavor that tastes like I just bit into an orange, with a malt texture that comes through in the finish as slightly biscuity and dry. Smooth, but a bit grainy, and I think it is pretty good overall, I have of course had better takes on the style, but for me it drinks just fine and is horribly underrated. I’m happy to see something like this coming out of Scotland. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA

Pours deep, clear, straw yellow with a small, sticky white head, some lace. Smells sweet and earthy pine. Tastes of pineapple and some spicy, grassy hops. Different. Very sweet, somewhat hop resiny with some alcohol as well. Resiny sweet/bitter. Medium/full body with subdued carbonation. Bottle condition maybe? BOLTZ7555 (1107), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Crystal clear brass color with a small fizzy head that left minimal lacing. Aroma is more fruity than most IIPAs; not citrus and pine but more tropical influences of papaya and mango. Flavor is Del Monte fruit cocktail in a can and actually has a slight metallic quality. Medium mouthfeel and pretty good!!! Finally!!!
