Aug 22, 2007 Cask, Blue Blazer, Edinburgh. Clears to a yellowy goold with a thin white head. Takes a while. Nose- wow. Lots of fruit, hoppiness, some dry hopped character. Floral and lively. Just a touch of metal. Mouth is quite hoppy, but some oversweet syrup, then bitterness. Surprisingly balanced, obvious warming alcohol at this point. Harsh bitter and warm alcoholic palate. Rather drinkable, scarily so.

Feb 11, 2009 I have had a couple of other beers from them and this one just wasn’t as good. Pours a clear gold, much lighter than I expected and a small lacy white head. Aroma of malt, with hops being a second almost which I wouldn’t expect from an Imperial IPA. Not much citrus at all, but a little floral hops. Higher ABV for the flavor in my opinion. Average.

Nov 3, 2009 Bottle, had been sitting in cellar temp for 3 months, so maybe I’m asking for trouble . . . . pours clear gold-tangerine with a mild head. Aroma is orange marmalade, tea, and soft caramel. Not particularly strong either. Flavor is fitting of an English IPA: rounded, strong malt presence, herbs and mild fruit notes. What impresses me most about this beer is twofold: it covers the alcohol extremely well, and provides soft toffee-caramel smoothness while retaining a tame hop bitter finish. Finish is overall charmingly sweet. Unfortunately, with me living in SoCal I cannot rightfully say I prefer this (albeit slightly aged) version of a DIPA to those of most West Coast breweries.

Apr 13, 2008 this was an excellent beer. tastey and strong. A nice surprise at the split rock beer fest. I’d look for this brand again.

Oct 11, 2009 Cask @ Chelsea’s Brewing Co. in NYC this past weekend. Pours a hazy orange body woth small white head. Great citrus hop aroma. Good hop flavor.

Nov 1, 2009 33cl bottle, batch #037. Pale hazy golden, tiny white head, mostly disappearing. Sweet and exotic nose, loads of sweet grapefruit, passion fruit, little resin, hint of flowery honey. Flavor has a tad more straightforward hop profile, sweet pale maltiness, clean yeast, lingering soap ’n’ sap bitterness in the finish, slighly numbing. Nearly full bodied, homebrew-like yeasty palate. Some similarities with Hopslam on the nose, sadly that soap gets a bit overpowering later on. Not the most balanced one, but alright.

Jun 16, 2008 750ml bottle, enjoyed on brew day. Pours hazy orange. Very citrusy aroma (if not a bit sharp), you can tell this is going to be bitter. The flavor is very bitter with plenty of alcohol. There is also citrus peal, spicy & herby hops in abundance. Is that peated malt I detect in there? There is a bit of grain to this but it is hops hops and more hops through and through. Semi-dry, medium body. It’s good, but a bit coarse
