Commercial Description:
ADMIN NOTE: Brewdog have recently changed the recipe for this beer quite significantly. We are currently considering whether this change is sufficiently drastic to warrant a new listing. In the meantime could all raters ensure that they note which version they had in their rating to facilitate a split in due course, should that de deemed necessary. Whether you had the "new" or "old" version can be determined by reference to the batch number and the best before date. The newest batch is 037 and the BBD 03/09/10 (British dating) anything before this date or batch is the old version.

Bottle. Body-hazy light gold, loose foamy white ring of bubbles. Nose-lotion, light orange, light white spices, stale weak grapefruit, hops, high CO2. Taste-a little on the sweet side, piney, OK bitter level, mint/pine on the backend, tastes like a 1.5 IPA with no soul. OK, but nothing to write home about.

Bottle. Pours a deep golden with a moderate frothy white head. Aroma of caramel malt and som hops. Strong hoppy bitter flavour, start sweet, and turns into acid.

Not impressed with the Scottish brewers overall. This was way too whimpy, I can’t believe it is 9%. Mild grapefruit hop flavor balanced by some toffee and grainy malts. Not up to American hop standards though. The most boring double IPA I have had so far.

Cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus and grape. Flavour is light bitter hop (grape) and some cirtus and grass notes.

Cloudy gold pour with no head at all but still lively carbonation. Decent lacing. Aroma and taste are very similar. Citrus hops mild malt and a semi sweet but bitter finish. This was more of a hoppy barleywine to me. $7 a bomber.

65 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA. Deep golden colour, Hoppy aroma, thick syrupy mouthfeel. Peppery, relatively smooth aftertaste. Very unnasuming for how strong it is.

Bottle shared by someone at BCTC ’08. Poured clear gold in color with a small white head. Aroma of piney and citrus hops. Tastes of grapefruit, orange peel, and mild piney hops. The hops were pretty underwhelming for this to be a double IPA.
