Whether you had the "new" or "old" version can be determined by reference to the batch number and the best before date. From the 750ml bottle this pours a clear yellow/gold body with much bubbling and a substantial, creamy head. The aroma has buttery sweetmalts, a touch of orchard fruit, and hop scents of flowers, grapefruit, pine, and earth. The hoppy bitterness dominates the flavor, which is dandy for this hop-head, the malty sweetness just strong enough to support it. More pine and citrus zest in the flavor. It finishes on a dry bitter note, quited prolonged and satisfying. Very nice.

Weak looking pour with a thin, somewhat wispy head of white bubbles. Lightly hazed light cider appearance. Some citric cedar scents. A touch of malt in the backdrop that reminds me of golden promise. Big citric start with a mix of pulp, pith and zest. Flavors of very light caramel and then a bit of cedar kick in. A bit lifeless and cloying in feel, but the zest help clean things up a touch. Some fruit, including pear and apricot in the middle. Finish has a light citric kick, in a key lime kind of way. I’m not catching the 9%. For me it lacks some depth and is much to citric in flavor without the bitterness to pull it out.

Bottle@Home. Thanks Yngwie. Malty, grapefruit, perfume aroma. Cloudy, dark yellow, white head, good lace. Sweet, malty, rather bitter, grapefruit, grassy. Sticky but dry in the very finish. Very flavorful, alcohol hidden, well drinkable.

Bottle from Rivers Bend. Poured a hazy copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very drinkable beer and my expectations where met.

Cask, Leicester Fest 09. Lightly hazy gold with a thin head. Aromas are sweet grapefruit with lots of herbal and medicinal notes. Boozy with sweet floral hops. Flavours are sweet citrus with herbal, floral notes. Spicy with a deep honey sweetness. Bitter grapefruit and spices with lots of peppery notes. Strong alcohol. As big and brash as you would expect from Brewdog.
Earlier Rating: 1/7/2008 Total Score: 3.4
Cask, Derby Winter Fest 08. Hazy gold with a white foam. Aromas are woody with crystalised sugar. Alcohol and spicy hops. Some caramel. Flavours are sweet caramel and Autumn fruit with some citrus. Woody with a viscous palate. Hoppy and dry on the finish with more alcohol following. A little disappointing.

Bottled. A copper coloured beer with a tiny off white head. The aroma has big sticky hops and a bit of glue. The taste is the same with loads of hops. Notes of grapes. Decent but a bit chewy and a little unbalanced Score 3.5
Subsequent rating scored 3.8, 3.8 and 4.3. Average becomes 3.8

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a slightly fruity hoppy bitter aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter flavor with some hints of citrus. Sweet malty and hoppy finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

Wow, there’s a big RSD with this one, and I dare say it is way under-appreciated. Pours turbid canary gold with 2-finger white head. Nose is floral hops, rock sugary malt, mild honey, apricot, and yeasty funk. Tastes dry, floral, very hoppy, with a Belgian IPA feel to it. Tropical fruit and funky notes are also in the flavor, with the floral hops and rock sugar maintaining a good balance. It waters out a bit late, but that’s a minor beef.
