Aroma of hop, grapefruit, flowery. Quite bitter taste. But not as strong as most other double IPAs. Bit ’emo’ instead of hardcore. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

Clear yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is a marriage of earthy, spicy, citric and herbal hops. Full-bodied with a mildly creamy mouthfeel and standard carbonation. Big pale malt backbone, earthy hops and warm alcohol. Finishes bittersweet and boozy. Kudos to growler for sharing! skortila (2915), Bunnik, Netherlands

Slightly, hazy yellow coloured with a thin, white head. Taste is bitter, a little sweet, has citrus. Okay, but the suggests something more heavy. notalush (2699), Denver, Colorado, USA

Deep golden colour, solid white head. Sweet and hoppy, where sweetness dominates. Would gain from ageing. At present, t’s just a mish-mash of bold, sweet big-ness. kkearn (1016), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma strikes a good balance between malt and hops, with the hops coming out a little ahead. Flavor is sweet caramel malt for an instant, which are quickly followed big, resinous citric hops. Hops linger for a long finish, and resins stick to the palate. Not a bad IPA, but not something I’d go out of my way to sample again. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark
