Eyedrinkale (3091), Beer Town, New York, USA Apr 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours with a fluffy white head. Aroma is biscuitty and citrus. Off flavor of soggy cardboard is upfront but the decent amount of hops covers some of it. Not enough though.
martinboer (1284), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 15, 2008 Bottle from Utobeer, London. Clear yellow body, some head. Hoppy nose. Really nice grassy and hoppy taste. Buttery. But almost too hoppy, which for me is amazing. Nice finish. michael-pollack (1310), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 13, 2008 660ml Bottle: Aroma of hops, grass, toffee, and grapefruit. Poured amber in color with a large, creamy, foamy, rocky, off-white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Very sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of hops, grass, toffee, butter, cream, and Ringwoood yeast. Medium body. Syrupy, chalky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Grassy, creamy finish. eaglefan538 (2020), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jul 12, 2008 Bottle shared generously by Robert at State Line. The pour was fairly typical for a dIPA, although the body wasn’t hazy at all (makes sense, says here it’s filtered). The aroma was mostly floral hops, some fruity elements. The flavor followed the aroma, some mustiness, and the floral-fruity combo had something about it that was odd, almost like a hard candy was dipped in it for a while and allowed to premeate some sugars/flavoring into the beer. Mouthfeel was pretty light within style. Nothing special, but certainly drinkable. Thanks, Robert, a good time. Angeloregon (1516), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 6, 2008 Thanks to El Gordo for this bottle--Poured a rich light amber-golden body with a decent whitish top. Floral, caramel nose with a sticky, fruity hoppy presence. Mild yet sharp bitterness . Nice balance of hops and malts. A little thin on the mouthfeel, but overall, quite good. ekstedt (1731), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 2, 2008 Bottle (33 cl) from Ølbutikken. Deep clear golden, medium white head. Sweaty hops with some tropical fruits, syrupy and hayísh malt. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Good balance, long bitter finish. Quite mediocre DIPA.
