21st August 2008. Less in your face than some of it’s Paradox siblings. Low carbonation, silky smooth palate. Subtle well integrated chocolate, mellow whiskey and sour malt. A warming finish with some earthiness. Subtle and refined.

Bottle at post Borefts BF 09 tasting. Dark brown, bit of whisky vanilla butter aorma. Smooth impy stout. Bit of heat on finish. Lots of good smooth dark choc, right side of bitterness, whisky heat and flavour but not overpowering.

In What Completes my Brewdog Set (so far) I have to say a big thanks to Crosling for this one ... Shared in the Aftermath of De Molen in our 30 Beer Breakfast bash ... This was one of the better paradoxes ... deep black ... soft roast malt nose ...rich chocolate fruityness ... deep roast ... little coffee..

pours dark brown, light mahogany head. Aroma of chocolate, amazing sweet caramel for a near lactic sweetness, hints of vanilla and wood. Flavor, well crafted brew for sure, cask/wood presence is not over the top, followed by dark roasted malts, light chocolate, coffee adding a nice sweetness to the palate. Hints of vanilla, light wood with tobacco/char mouthfeel. Not overly boozy, easy sipper. Pleasantly surprised compared to other Brewdog beers.

Pours black with no head. Aroma is rich, roasty malt, bourbon, wood, vanilla, coffee, and, tobacco. Flavor is sweet malt, leather, coffee, bourbon, roast malt, and a bit of alcohol.

Bottle. Pours an oily dark color with almost no head. Nose is fronted by bourbon, some light chocolate and dark malt notes in the back. Palate is oily and smooth with a nice bite. Flavors of crisp bourbon that fade into a nice dark chocolate, malty roastiness.

Bottle. Pours a brown black body with a thin tan head. Woody roast y a hint of maple vanilla and dry woody highland scotch like imparted flavors. Sweet with a moderate warming. Good brew overall.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a tulip glass. The color is a dark and opaque black with some light brown foam and so nice lacing. The smell is just a tiny bit teasing. Some toffee and burnt malt feel. The darker of the malt feel on this one. The taste is quite a bit coffee flavored. Some nice toffee and peanut brittle flavor. A burnt feel to the flavor has been thinking of imperial stouts. It does gives a very conditioned, and flavor filled taste to this beer. Quite good and quite surprising from a brewery that seemed as they were just filled with gimmicks. The feel of this beer is a bit tart but creamy. Sliding through the mouth it just tweaks the pretty twisted side in your taste buds and brings out a smile. I was impressed.
