redlight (1445), Winter Park, Florida, USA Apr 20, 2009 Rich coffee, molasses, with oak in the nose. Pours dark amber, brown with a little to no head. Rich caramel malts with oak tannin and whisky flavors, rich molasses and hints of chocolate in the flavor. Very smooth and delightful. Rich and complex. michael-pollack (2604), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 17, 2009 330ml Bottle: Thanks waolsen! Aroma of caramel, dark ripe fruits, light wood, slight tobacco, light malts, and a hint of vanilla. Poured very dark brown/black in color with a very small, very rocky, tan head that lasted as a film on top of the beer. Clear. Ever so slightly sparkling. Tiny lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malts, light whiskey, wood, light chocolate, caramel, slight coffee, slight alcohol, light tobacco, slight smoke, and a hint of roasting. Medium body. Slightly thin, lightly dry texture. Soft to average carbonation. Smokey, roasted malt, slight whiskey finish is dry. 10%ABV is well hidden. JohnnyJ (1283), Carlsbad, California, USA Mar 25, 2009 Pours a dark brown/black with light tan head (diminishing). Grainy malt, coffee, hints of chocolate and dark fruit, and a good dose of bourbon. A little bit of vanilla and oak. Fairly complex, but overall not that enjoyable. mspindler (301), Alta Loma, California, USA Mar 23, 2009 Bottle from Lone Hill shared with DuffmanSW. Pours a very dark brown with virtually no head. Aroma is lots of bourbon and pretty smoky with some dark dried fruits and a slight alcohol sting. Flavor is very roasty. A little coffee, but mostly oak and vanilla, some caramelized fruits. Finishes very dry and fairly bitter. Mouthfeel is smooth and its full bodied but not as much as expected. Low carbonation. Not your typical imperial stout. Really nice stuff. fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Mar 22, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of sweet smoke, chocolate, sweet whiskey, sweet, lightly roasted malt. Flavor similar, rich with creamy chocolate with that ever-present whiskey and barrel complexity. Tasty. zapprentice (309), East Setauket, New York, USA Mar 22, 2009 Had this right after the 1966 cask Port Dundas. Enjoyed this much more. Similar aroma, chocolate and coffee with alcohol. Much more of a body in my opinion. Enjoyable fidel (886), Livermore, California, USA Mar 9, 2009 Pours dark brown/black, dark fruit, dark chocolate, coffee, wood , vanilla, roasted malts. soyorganic (217), Denver, Colorado, USA Feb 20, 2009 Bottle: pours black with a small head. Aroma of plum wine, prunes, caramel, coffee with a vinous type aroma. Very nice, smotth stout with a strong and flavorful malt taste that lingers with some coffee notes. Undertones of dark fruit such as plum and prunes come out in the taste. Alcohol is not noticeable. This is so tasty.
