Slightly lighter brown than the Macallan. Clear. The nose is woody, earthy, slightly mushroomy with a little bit of alcohol and chocolate. Rounded, soft palate is sticky, chewy, rummy. The toffee and dark chocolate is fun, with some pepper and alcohol finish.

(33cl bottle, sampled side-by-side with Islay 009, Speyside 010, and Macallan 011) Small beige head that mostly diminishes atop clear red-black body, no lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, Scotch, some chocolate, milder aroma than the other three. Taste is medium sweet, bittersweet chocolate, some Scotch, roast. Medium body, low carbonation.

Bottle from Lithy, thanks! Deep dark brown color. Dark chocolate, dried fruit and a hint of oak in the aroma. Malty sweet, oaky flavor with just a hint of smoke and dark chocolate. Alcoholic, dried fruit. The malt whisky character is there, but I prefer it a bit more peated.

11.2oz bottle labeled Batch 003 BB 12/12/09, Poured dark brown with red edges and an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of smoke, some earthiness, chocolate, oak, vanilla, and light whiskey. Tastes of vanilla, light whiskey, wood, chocolate, liighter earthiness, and roast. Thinner but nice and smooth body. Alcohol content well hidden.

Bottle... Post RBSG ’08 O-Town/Vero Beach Throwdown Chapter 8... This beer rocks! ... Pours black with a creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. Understated, earthy, acrid aroma offers up subtle notes of chocolate, tobacco, wood and smoke. Full-bodied and velvety with medium carbonation. Balanced nicely. Sweet chocolate; bitter, woodsy alcohol. Chocolaty finish. Thanks go out to growler for sharing this world class bottle of beer!

(12oz. bottle, BB 12/12/09) Pours a dark brown body with a spare beige head. Aroma of bourbon, roasted malt, caramel, and peat. Flavor of roasted malt, bourbon, and coffee with a dry finish.

Pours a semi-transparent dark mahogany with a thin, wispy light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel with some smoky peat, roasty malt and dark chocolate. Body starts fairly full and dark caramely sweet with good complex dark chocolate and coffee notes. Finishes slightly drier with mild Scotch character. Pretty subdued compared to the other Paradox beers.
