12-oz. Thanks, Skoi! Pours a dense dark black with amber highlights; with enough light behind it, it shows clear. But so much color. Very light gray swirls, legless, headless, laceless. Very mild nose for a ba impy--caramel, roast, maybe a bit of campfire. The roast comes up to an almost salty degree on the mid-palate. Nice clean medium body, maybe a bit of booze in the sinus and on the back of the tongue. Beautiful roast, caramel, and mild peat wash through the nice long finish.

Pours almost black with some brown hues. The beer was headless after a vigorous pour. Nice aromas of some sweet roasted malts and a pleasant touch of whiskey and oak. Soft flavors of roasted malt, sweeter dark malts, oak and scotch whiskey. Soft carbonation, lighter bodied than I expected, smooth drinking and not as hot as I would have though from 10%.

Dark brown pour, not especiallyheavy looking, with nearly no head at all. Rich chocolate aroma with subtle whiskey and wood undertones. Semi-sweet palate of chocolate, tobacco, and some subtle vanilla oakiness. Much more nuanced than expected, and lighter than expected given a beer of this size. The alcohol is completely hidden within its richness. Another wonderful brew.

Courtesy of tpd975. Pours dark brown with thin tan head. The aroma is mild with roasty to chocolate malts being covered up by ample amounts of booze followed by a hint of wood and searing hotness on a big draw. The taste is mild and smooth as indicated by the nose. I get notes of mild peat to earthiness followed by a smooth and gentle roasty to chocolate maltiness. The finish approaches with lingering sweetness, notes of Scotch booze, lingering faint wood notes and a mild warming sensation. Wow, milder experience than what I was expecting. Smooth and very drinkable.

At Vero. Darker than the Macallan. Also a more honeyed nose. Scotchy and meaty. Velvet mouthfeel is impossibly smooth. Excellent texture. Complex, lingering slight char in the finish. Peat, smoke, wood mingle and party together. Super brew.

Know what I like about this? Unlike a lot of barrell aged beers, this doesn’t scream whiskey (or whisky, as the case may be). The scotch flavors blend nicely with the beer, adding a depth of flavor and not overpowering the beer. Very smooth, with subtle fruity notes combining with the earthy, woodsy notesHint of peat and sea air, too. Very tasty. BB12/12/09,batch 003

330ml Bottle: Thanks waolsen! Aroma of caramel, dark ripe fruits, light wood, slight tobacco, light malts, and a hint of vanilla. Poured very dark brown/black in color with a very small, very rocky, tan head that lasted as a film on top of the beer. Clear. Ever so slightly sparkling. Tiny lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malts, light whiskey, wood, light chocolate, caramel, slight coffee, slight alcohol, light tobacco, slight smoke, and a hint of roasting. Medium body. Slightly thin, lightly dry texture. Soft to average carbonation. Smokey, roasted malt, slight whiskey finish is dry. 10%ABV is well hidden.
