| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 24, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a flat black body with a small thin fizzy light brown head that hung around as a large bubbled ring. The whisky nose on this is just awesome. Lots of char and vanilla with a more subtle level of smoke and peat than some of the other batches that I’ve tried. Still a good deal of roasty malt as well, but this is pretty well about the whisky. The taste is a little more balanced in this version as well, the beer seems to have been able to stand up against the barrel a little bit better than some others. Oak, char, vanilla, very well controlled alcohol flavor, and great roasted malt all meld together seamlessly. This is so much better than most of the other versions it might actually convince me to buy some more of these different batches. On the lighter side as far as body goes for the style, but it makes it very very drinkable in large gulps. Nice soft light carbonation doesn’t distract from the flavor. This beer was excellent. hobbersr (412), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

The aroma is very sweet, like a sherry barrel aged whiskey. The nose also brings a nice roasty, toasted oak note. The flavor is sweet and fruity. Nourbon, sherry, almonds, chocolate and coffee on the palate. Quite nice Cole (312), , Alberta, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Pours black no head. Oak acompanied by a fruity sweetness dominate the aroma. Flavour is very oaky with notes of sherry. This was definatly in a sherry barrel aged whiskey barrel. It is sweet, bold and interesting. I like it. radiomgb (2068), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 28, 2009 330 ml bottle, best before 2/12/08? Dark brown with some tan froth. Nose is chocolate, molasses and oak with a touch of whiskey. Medium light, faint carb; comes off a bit watery. Taste is chocolate, raisin and anise finishing with vanilla, greens and sour mash. A smooth sipper that benefits from warming. Hard to believe it’s 10%. Marsiblursi (1652), Göteborg, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 1, 2009 (Bottle) Pours dark brown to black with a light brown head. The aroma holds heavy vanilla, medium wooden and light whisky tones from the oak. Quite bourbon-ish. Nice liquorice and dark chocolate backbone. Mild undertones of dark fruits/raisins, sweaty brown sugar, roses, nuts, toffee, tar and salt. The flavour is near medium sweet and light bitter with notes vanilla, wood, asphalt, light molasses/brown sugar, liquorice, salt and light chocolate/coffee roast. Light numbing alcohol. The mouthfeel is round and light sticky with a light carbonation. Light tannins and peppery wood in the finish. Medium to full bodied. The wood and vanilla-driven Paradox beers are much better than the super smoky ones - it plays better with the malt profile. Madsnp (627), Odense C, Denmark
