Bottle from Utobeer. Pours a pitch oil like black liquid. Hoppy nose with wine, alcohol, dried fruits and malt. Taste is incredibly vinous and much like a heavy port. Quite drinkable but definitely a sipper.

Near black colored with red hints. Little light brown head. Rich aroma with sweet dominating whiskey tone, some oak and roastiness also present, vanilla is very strong too. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is like aroma: vanilla and oaky whiskey dominating, somehow bland palate still. Aftertaste dries with still this whiskey here, mild alcohol also comes up. Not too much roastiness here, still excellent brew.

Paradox parallel tasting
Black color, nice head, but not persistent; I expected a bottle conditioned beer, but this one is filtered. The aroma is very nice, delicate, of Bourbon vanilla and some caramel. The mouthfeel is quite smooth, almost creamy, at all not thick as an American Imperial Stout, lean I would say; there is a quite strong dark chocolate flavor, well corrected by the strong Bourbon vanilla; balanced all the way to the final, when the roastiness heads up, and with a minimum alcohol perception (maybe more alcohol than the others, also because of the less sweetness). Very good.

Bottle, Thanks Craig!, november 07. Rich, opaque black color with some beatifull glowing ruby hues. Vinous, torrid aroma with some anise, spicy and whisky notes. Aniseed, molasses and burnt caramel flavor. Smoke notes with some regaliz. Warming. Medium palate, not heavy, rewarding and complex. Excellent, whiskyish imperial stout.

Bottled. dark brown with red hints with a minimal beige foam. Black coffee, prunes, marzipan, almonds and licorice. Big flavour of vanilla, nuts, maize, milky chocolate....tastes pretty much like a bourbon.barrel impy. Vanilla, brown sugar, chocolate, alcohol, almonds, brown sugar, figs and oak.

courtesy of fiulijn - dark brown colour without foam; decently smokey, notes of pear, highland whisky-like aroma (maybe something like a Macallan); some sweetness and a robust malt body; oily and with a strong bitterness; dry and very bitter finish where notes of caramel are playing with those of alcohol, wood and cherry
