Very dark ruby, almost opaque color, small espresso head. Strong roasted barley and licorice aroma mixed with Scottish vanilla aroma whisky. Roasted, coffeish stout with loads of vanilla. Paradox without smoke but with extra vanilla. Good. Maria (6286), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2008 Batch 007. Black with a middle sized and rather dense head. The aroma has clear notes of whisky, sweetness, vanilla, roasted malt and sweet licorice. The flavour has notes of smooth grain whisky, roasted malt, vanilla, light sweetness, light licorice, a roasted, light bitter-sweet bitterness and a dry, roasted finish. IMO this has more whisky flavour than the Speyside Batch 005. faroeviking (6107), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Pours nearly black with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, light peity smoke, chocolate, vanilla, liqourice and a light, subdued roastiness. Low carbonation, very oily mouthfeel. Flavour is wonderful roasted, lots of liqourice and a warming viniousness. The peity smoke is evident, but subdued. Once again, the grain casks wins it for me (like the 002). hopdog (5604), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
