Bottle at home with Fukito ... side by side with batch 02 ... deep red black ... slightly smokey rich fruity malt ... rich deep fruity malt .... good roast but not burnt in background ... whiskey spirit is more present here than in 02 and while this is not rough it does have an edge,

Bottled, BB Dec 3, 2008. Poured medium-deep brown with a short, looser cap of tan head. The aroma picked up moderately roasted dark chocolates with lesser coffee accented by vanilla and sweet whiskey.. sweet and sticky overall. The flavor was semi-sweet with a malty complexion of chocolate, coffee, and caramel notes paired fairly well with vanilla and whiskey on the edges.. spicy and warm without an overt alcohol presence.. the barrel increased with warmth. Medium-bodied and increasingly warm and bitter as it progressed.. low carbonation.. solidly done.

Bottle (330ml). Clear ruby-brown pour, average frothy lasting tan head. Sweet aroma redolent with gentle Lowland character, slightly burnt biscuity malt - damned thing actually smells smooth. The taste is very sweet, somewhat burnt, but a wonderful beer/whiskey blend - slick, light, astringent, with a sweet woody somewhat alcoholic finish - a fantastic beer.

Bottle. Small beige fizzy head. Fair lacework. Dark mahogany color. Heavy rye bread, dried fruit, toffee, sweet liquorish. Over the palate heavy notes of bourbon and vanilla. Brown sugar and almost coffee and chocolate like notes. Very full bodied with a soft carbonation and dry texture. Heavy sweet with counter bitter flavor. Lingering liquorish and bourbon finish.

Pours black with a off white bubbly head & fairly good lacings. Aroma is of roasted malts (coffee), light smoke, oak & vanilla. Incredibly smooth palate - velvet silky soft & filling. Light sweet & salty flavor. Sticky lips. The whisky notes are very mild & pleasant. Only light warmth. Very well balanced!
