| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2008 12oz bottle. BB4 2/12/08. Minimal head on very dark beer. Strong aroma of alcohol and characteristics of the barrel aging. Mild aroma at first but grows and grows. If the barrel aging does anything it has stretched out and softened the character of the beer and definitely added a soft whiskey finish. ante (2941), Stockholm, Sweden

Black coffee, prunes, marzipan, almonds and licorice. Big flavour of vanilla, nuts, maize, milky chocolate....tastes pretty much like a bourbon.barrel impy. Vanilla, brown sugar, chocolate, alcohol, almonds, brown sugar, figs and oak. skortila (2903), Bunnik, Netherlands

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 17, 2008 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Listed as best before 12/08. My favorite BrewDog to-date. Pours with no head and a dark brown body. Awsome aroma of whiskey barrel, vanlla, chocolate, coconut and a little bit of barrel bug. Reminds me a bit of Captain Lawrence’s Winter Warmer by the whisky barrel aroma. Taste is lots of chocolate and light barrel and wood, with vanilla and a vinous note with a bit of fig and ash. Long whisky filled duration. Creamy mouthfeel a bit on the warming side of things. Great stuff, one of the few BrewDogs I strongly recomend! DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Strong aroma of almonds, bitters and some smoke too, deep mahogany, red at the sides, pours a small tan head. Taste has malt, toffee, peat, wood, smoke and booze. Full bodied, very well balanced, alcohol is masked, nice tongue tingle. Fanatastic! Pinball (2818), Allerød, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 21, 2009 33cl bottle at home. found in ølbutikken, cph. boy do i look forward to this one. i like whiskey, i like beer, i like stout, i like barreled beer. this can’t go wrong. bottle is well aged (best before 2008-11-01 according to danish beerhouse label on top of capsule)
pours almost black, with a small light brown fluffy head. Seen before with barrel aging, but it is just a 3 anyways.
first sniff reveals a nice round mellow whisky aroma, very round and soft. more sniffing reveals hard roasted malts, coffee, licorice. i think i might be serving it too cold, it’s probably only 6 celcius right now. my bad. i’ll let it stay for a while before tasting. bottle says serve at room temperature. okay. well now it’s igloo room temperature i guess. flavor is vanilla, american whisky, subdued roasted malts. wood (oak), roasted sugar. ends bitter and with a distinct whiskey feel to it. thebeertourist (2793), Oslo, Norway
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jul 18, 2008 Bottle. Almost black with a small light brown froth. Great complex aroma promising vanilla, roasted malt and chocolate. Vanilla flavours dominate, adding on chocolate, roast plays second fiddle. Do I taste a hint of orange as well? Smooth and full-bodied. Simply wonderful. DuffMan (2756), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 16, 2008 Black oily pour with a slow-to-rise thin brown cap. Rich aromas of peaty scotch, bitter chocolate, vanilla. Oily silky palate, burnt malt with scotch-kissed dark chocolate and a hint of anise. Sweet and heavy, an oaky feel to it, with a pleasing bitter finish. Outstanding, and certainly the best beer I’ve tasted to utilize the whiskey-and-beer marriage concept, perfectly balanced in my opinion.
