Bottled. dark brown with red hints with a minimal beige foam. Black coffee, prunes, marzipan, almonds and licorice. Big flavour of vanilla, nuts, maize, milky chocolate....tastes pretty much like a bourbon.barrel impy. Vanilla, brown sugar, chocolate, alcohol, almonds, brown sugar, figs and oak.

Bottled BBE 2008. Very dark ruby, almost opaque color, small espresso head. Strong roasted barley and licorice aroma mixed with Scottish vanilla aroma whisky. Roasted, coffeish stout with loads of vanilla. Paradox without smoke but with extra vanilla. Good.

Courtesy of Magic_Dave. The aroma is foremost whisky accented, but chocolate, vanilla, toasted and roasted malt and a very mild smoky note are also present. The body is mostly black, but there are dark ruby highlights. There is little head to speak of. The flavor starts with the whisky then goes chocolate followed by vanilla, mild hints of oak, some almost brown ale nutty notes and even hints of caramel. Tastes pretty nice and I can see that is where the buzz comes from on Brewdog beers. However it seems a bit thin and under carbonated, at least for my personal tastes and that has an effect on my enjoyment of the beer.

Batch 007. Black with a middle sized and rather dense head. The aroma has clear notes of whisky, sweetness, vanilla, roasted malt and sweet licorice. The flavour has notes of smooth grain whisky, roasted malt, vanilla, light sweetness, light licorice, a roasted, light bitter-sweet bitterness and a dry, roasted finish. IMO this has more whisky flavour than the Speyside Batch 005.

Bottled, BB Dec 3, 2008. Poured medium-deep brown with a short, looser cap of tan head. The aroma picked up moderately roasted dark chocolates with lesser coffee accented by vanilla and sweet whiskey.. sweet and sticky overall. The flavor was semi-sweet with a malty complexion of chocolate, coffee, and caramel notes paired fairly well with vanilla and whiskey on the edges.. spicy and warm without an overt alcohol presence.. the barrel increased with warmth. Medium-bodied and increasingly warm and bitter as it progressed.. low carbonation.. solidly done.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown and with a lacing light brown head. Light chocolate and smooth vanilla aroma. Flavour is sweet and with a light alcohol note and a mild spiced flavour too. Ends slight spiced and with a solid bitterness.
