Commercial Description:
Bottled, Special;
Port Dundas 1966 We set about to unite two of Scotland proudest heritages and produce a product which combined all that was good about Scotland’s whisky producing history and our contemporary take on a traditional Scottish style of stout. The fact that we have developed this product in conjunction with Duncan Taylor Ltd of Huntly means we mature our beer in the casks that once housed some of the most prestigious whiskies available today. The distinct flavours of these whiskies is beautifully infused into the beer giving a unique and unrivalled experience for both beer and whisky lovers. Paradox is produced in very small batches and each batch is bottled in a unique numbered limited edition bottle.

11.2oz bottle. Batch 013 and Best Before 02/02/2010. Poured a dark, dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of some earthiness, light whisky, chocolate, peat, some wood, and vanilla. Tastes of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruits, and lighter wood. The whisky came out more in the tastes vs the aromas. Light to medium sweet. Lacing left on the glass. These Paradox beers are decent, but man are they expensive.

330ml bottle - - Pikkulintu, Helsinki
Initial aroma after letting it sit for a while is pure raisins and sherry, almost like samichlaus, and with plenty of vanilla. A little swirl brings out some esters, which are less delightful. Soft palate, very sweet retronasal sherry and some banana. A touch of ashtray as it warms, but thoroughly pleasant sipper - I enjoyed every drop. With its sweetness and vanilla emphasis, this is very like Huvila Pesäpuu#1.

Bottle at Beer Hunters, BB 02/2010. Opaque black color, not much head, just some brown foam. Strong aroma of sweetish vanilla and some whisky. In the flavor loads of vanilla, this is certainly quite sweet. Not alcoholic, light toasted notes in the aftertaste. This is a bit like Huvila Pesäpuu nr 1. Sweeter than batch 007.
