Draft (Capone’s). Pours a deep, dark black with just a trace of a thin, tan head. Aroma of heavily roasted malts, some coffee, dark chocolate and a smidge of whiskey. Flavor of the roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, hint of vanilla and a little bit of the whiskey. Quite smooth and tasty.

[Draft @ Capones] Poured an opaque black color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, light scotchy peat, chocolate, burnt wood, and coffee. Taste of roasted malts, whiskey, coffee, roast, dark chocolate, vanilla, smoke, and light alcohol in the finish.

Bottle from Archer Liquor. BB 08/08/10. Pours brown/black with a coarsely bubbled transient tan head. Aroma of oak, dark burnt malt and dark fruits. Almost medium in body, really slack carbonation. Flavor is light burnt malt, oak, medium dark fruits. Slight chocolate. Mild compared to most Paradox. But extremely tasty.

Draught at The Rover. Deep reddish brown colour. Low beige head. Aroma from mint-chocolate, edgy booze, light butterscotch, licorice, light whisky and vanilla-ish oak. Early vanilla tone in flavour, edgy booze again, and dry ashy notes. Oily body, light-ish motor-oil texture with light licorice. Meat also present. Slight salty.
