Paradox Isle of Arran = Stout Aged in Isle of Arran Whisky Barrels - This Imperial stout has been matured in specially selected Islay Malt Whisky Casks. The aging process infuses into the beer all the threatening smoke, the encapsulating peat, the Atlantic essence and raw power of Scotland’s most distinctive Whiskies.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Storm. Pours dark brown with a tint of red and a tiny rough off-white head. Lovely sweet whisky aroma. Solid body, low in carbonation, very burned malts, woody, burned, ashy and astringent. Very malt astringent actually. 161209

33 cL bottle, courtesy of Duff. Pours dark brown to black with a fully gone tan head. Dense alcoholic aroma with a mild burn and phenolic note. Smooth chocolate and vanilla flavoured. Smooth and slight bitter. Lasting vanilla and chocolate smooth finish - nice.

Bottled. Very black, richhead. Arom of licorice and whisky. Fairly sweet and honeyish. Salty and potent, tarry and full bodied. Mild honeyish whiskey gives some warmth. Resiny bitterness.

Clear dark brown color with a average, fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, whisky, berry, wood. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081025]

Bottle at Sune. Clear red brown coloured with a small off white head. Roasted aroma of caramel, dark chocolate and alcohol with notes of rye rbead and whisky. Roasted flavour of smoke, whisky and liquorice with notes of hops and dark chocolate. Roasted finish.

Black color; medium creamy head, reducing quickly. Light aroma of caramel and molasses; very light chocolate. The body is medium to light, there is a sweetish caramel and chocolate aroma, some rhubarb candies, strong bitterness, some roasted malt at the end, but also alcohol. Unimpressive.
