Jun 12, 2009 One of their better paradox stouts. Dark brown pour, thin head. Chocolate malte, caramel, roasted nuts, dark fruit, plum, vanilla, oak, and bourbon. The barrel aging isnt to stron in this, maybe thats why I like it more. Complex, good Imp stout.

May 31, 2009 Bottle. Lots of whiskey in the aroma, and some slight roastiness. Black body, no head. Flavor is like a chocolate confection, filled with liquor. Not overpowering. Tasty and well-balanced. Gentle finish.

May 15, 2009 Thanks to Cheeseman, I think. Flavor is full of whiskey, but it really is a little more subdued than I thought it would be, especially comparing to others in this series.

May 7, 2009 Medium brown pour with off white head and lace. Burnt coffee, medium chocolate, and abv on the nose. Abv, chocoffee with a very good finishing bitter. Medium bodied with good carbonation. A very nice beer.

May 6, 2009 Wow is this stuff expensive. Thanks Jimmack for sharing. Very rich and boozy with soem wood and molasses. Sweet and syrupy, definitely a sipper.

May 5, 2009 Bottle bought @ De Molen. Deep dark brown color. Almost opague. Salt, dark chocolate and notes of whisky in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with dark chocolate, raisin, oak, whisky and dried fruit. Well balanced, the whisky lingers on in the background in a most pleasant way.

Apr 23, 2009 Updated: Apr 26, 2009Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of dark bread, toasted and cereal, light hops and yeast notes of perfume and herb, and leather, with background notes of boozy type alcohol, butterscotch, brown sugar and vanilla. Head is thin, wispy, off-white, with fair lacing and good legs, and is fully diminishing. Color is deep dark brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and slightly bittersweet. Palate is medium to full, syrupy, with a soft carbonation and finishes sticky and lightly alcoholic. The huge malt domination separates his beer from other quality Imperial Stout.
