Nice roasted malt aroma. The flavor found coffee, chocolate, roast, and a decent sherry backing. Medium to full body, sweet, roast aftertaste. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2009 Courtesy TheCheeseMan. Very dark brown pour, sparse soapy off-white head. Slight caramel, alcohol, spice, toffee, light whiskey notes. Heavy roast initially but yields to a mild whiskey taste. One of the milder Brewdogs. lithy (1650), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Some sherry and roast in the aroma but is thin. Taste is roasty base with some wood and sherry over top. Dickinsonbeer (3449), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 7, 2009 I think Hophead75 shared this at his tasting last year? Pours a deep dark brown almost straight black with a thinning shiny head some lace as well. Aroma is dark chocolate, nutty, scotch whiskey comes through- a bit harsh, oaky, astringent, hints of cola and sherry oxidation. Flavor is sweet but cut by the woody and whickey astringency and the oxidation sherry, saltiness backs that up to cut through all the malt- some slight sweetness, roast and chocolate malt with some slight fruitiness. Oaky and dry finish. JK (2952), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2009 The palate is a hair thinner than the Speyside. There is more oak in th flaovr and aroma, with lightly sweet fruit and yeast. Almost no scotch, and I don’t think Macallan spends much time in the sherry cask anyway. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 18, 2009 black, no head. Coffee, smoky, earthy aroma. Very earthy flavor, but it mixes well with the stout flavors. Nicely balanced, and the macallan never overpowers the beer. Very tasty. WeeHeavySD (2966), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

Nose is sweet malty and rich with a nice kick of chocolate. Taste is sweet chocolatey and malty. Some sweet sherry does come through. Pretty nice paradox from brewdog. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 15, 2009 330 ml, bb 12/12/09. Hard pour yields a small head that tries to cling to the rim of the glass. Aroma is vanilla, caramel, raisin, oak, light cherry and char. Well-blended flavors of caramel, chocolate raisin, vanilla, coffee, whiskey, sweet cherry and oak. Finish has some light char, salt and soy that provide a nice drying balance. The small head manages to leave some beautiful lacing all over the glass. Medium-heavy body is smooth and lightly sticky. Best of the five in the paradox series I’ve sampled to date.
