Pours a slight watery black with a thin white head. Big roasted grain, chocolate malt, coffee, vanilla aroma. Taste is very complex, lots of coffee roasted grain and chocolate malt. Also has great barrel and vanilla notes nicely blended in to give a great smoothness. Great smooth mouthfeel with hints of scotch. Very subtle and tasty.

One of their better paradox stouts. Dark brown pour, thin head. Chocolate malte, caramel, roasted nuts, dark fruit, plum, vanilla, oak, and bourbon. The barrel aging isnt to stron in this, maybe thats why I like it more. Complex, good Imp stout.

bottle courtesy of me, thanks me! served at room temp, even though that room temp was damn near around 70. warm grain aroma, some ruby port. jet black like the others, modest tan head. this is a fine imperial stout, added in complexity by the aging, though to me these highland malt casks do not offer as much depth. in this case the macallan cask only allows the sherry notes to come through the rich imperial stout. i think the smoky islay casks create more depth of flavor, though this beer is much more sessionable and easy to drink, though at 12 bucks a bottle i think i’d rather be forced to sip and savor it slowly.

bottle. black pour with thin head. mellow chocolate, toffee aroma. mellow and smooth. sherry is light and nice. the stout keeps its character. well balanced. chocolate and roassted malts. well done.

11.2oz bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Done with comparison to three other Paradox Impys. Pours black, ruby edges, tan head. Medicinal aroma, strong alcohol, coffee. Flavor is mostly scotch, chocolate in end. Very smooth.

Bottle shared by lithy. Poured black with a tan head that left light lacing. Nice roasted malt aroma. The flavor found coffee, chocolate, roast, and a decent sherry backing. Medium to full body, sweet, roast aftertaste.

33cl bottle. Almost black, coarse tiny beige head. Mellow vanilla nose, smooth and little creamy, some licorice, woodiness and honey like macallan. Flavor has more licorice and molasses, mild wood chips and whiskey alcoho, not too disturbing tho. Slightly coarse Apotek’s salmiak finish. Not that thick palate, low carbonation, could be a bit smoother. Not that bold, just like most speyside malts I’ve had. But I do like Macallans, don’t get me wrong.

Bottle. Lots of whiskey in the aroma, and some slight roastiness. Black body, no head. Flavor is like a chocolate confection, filled with liquor. Not overpowering. Tasty and well-balanced. Gentle finish.
