I think Hophead75 shared this at his tasting last year? Pours a deep dark brown almost straight black with a thinning shiny head some lace as well. Aroma is dark chocolate, nutty, scotch whiskey comes through- a bit harsh, oaky, astringent, hints of cola and sherry oxidation. Flavor is sweet but cut by the woody and whickey astringency and the oxidation sherry, saltiness backs that up to cut through all the malt- some slight sweetness, roast and chocolate malt with some slight fruitiness. Oaky and dry finish.

Bottle... Post RBSG ’08 O-Town/Vero Beach Throwdown Chapter 8... Clear, very dark ale with a small, off-white head. Very restrained nose offers subtle notes of chocolate, Scotch and brandy with even lesser wafts of tobacco, leather and wood. Full-bodied and velvety with limp carbonation. Chocolaty and boozy. Nice bitterness. Finishes hot and deeply roasted. Thanks go out to growler for sharing this bottle!

One of their better paradox stouts. Dark brown pour, thin head. Chocolate malte, caramel, roasted nuts, dark fruit, plum, vanilla, oak, and bourbon. The barrel aging isnt to stron in this, maybe thats why I like it more. Complex, good Imp stout.

Dark brown with red glimts and medium sized beige head. The aroma had burned malt, dark chocolate, smoke and wood. Flavour had burned malt, smoke, wood, dark bitter chocolate and vanilla. Finished with warming alcohol.

Bottle from Liquor Max in Loveland - thanks for the recommendation Nick! Dark brown pour with a 1/2 finger head that mostly subsides. Smokey caramel and sherry notes in the nose. Nicely balanced in the taste. Light roast, caramel, dried fruits in the malt complemented nicely by the sherry barrel. Coffee and alcohol hit toward the end, finishes with a lingering sherry/wood flavor. The wood and coffee notes leave this lightly astringent. Minor complaint - overall I think this is very well done. Mouthfeel is relatively light but the flavors are not lacking and this drinks well. Recommended. Stylistically, this does not really fall into the imperial stout category, for reference. My first of the BrewDog series - I’ll be looking forward to trying some more.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small, off-white heead and a black body. Aroma is some smooth wood, chocolate, scotch, and some nuts. Taste is scotch, lightly woody, some chocolate and almonds. Creamy mouthfeel, light carbonation.
