What a crazy beer. Pours a deep brown with amber hues. Aroma is off the charts - just burnt malt and charcoal amped up to 10. Flavor leaves a little bit to be desired; full of ash and charcoal, but no meat or juice. Good, but not great.

Dang! It taste like esspresso and heavy smoke and ashes. Smell like it too. I am a huge fan. If Talisker made beer, it might taste like this.

(Bottle) Very dark colour, almost black with ruby hints. Brief, foamy, beige head. Roasted, smoky nose with notes of tar, ashes, liquorice and dark chocolate. Roasted, malty taste with liquorice, tar, ashes, espresso and a smoky, malty finish. Starts sweet but turns drier and ashier towards the finish. More than medium body. Very nice beer.

Bottle: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a rich smoky peaty nose with a touch of vanilla oak and salty sweet dark chocolate. Starts with decent malty fullness and toasty dark caramel notes with lots of earthy smoke flavor before a drier lingering Scotch finish. A pretty enjoyable Scotch barrel aged stout, with lots of smoke throughout.

It’s black with a red hue and a small, creamy head. The aroma has notes of peaty smoke, oak, whisky, ashes and peat. The flavor has notes of peat, smoke, bunt wood, ashes, earth, whisky and the finish is dry and very long with pleasantly waring alcohol. It’s interesting and very upfront bordering to brutal...

Bottle. Pour is very dark brown with very thin, quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is large sweet smoke, large formaldehyde, subtle whisky notes, and light earthy funk. Not too sure about this aroma, it’s novel for sure. Flavor is crazy smokey; like drinking mesquite campfire. It’s a slightly sweet smoke. Also BBQ sauce notes. The flavor while the beer is on the palate is a bit severe. The aftertaste is really nice. The light smoke lingers for minutes and is really very nice. It’s not an overly complex beer, but it delivers what it promises. Thankfully only a small amount of the formaldehyde makes it into the flavor.

Pours dark almost opaque. Almost no head. The nose has an amazing rich smoky whiskey aroma. The flavor is smoky, burnt, and ashy in that order. Some whiskey behind that. Some dark malts and nuts notes come through. Very delicious and smooth for all the intense flavors. Kind of thin but overall a most excellent beer/

Strong peat smoke with nutty coffee aromas. Pours dark brown with a reddish center when held to the light. Intense peat smoke almost ashy at first with bitter dark chocolate and a creamy vanilla. Rich flavors with a lighter body makes it still very drinkable despite the intense flavors.

The aroma has tons of smoke that give it a charcoal and peat smell that covers everything else. The appearance is dark brown with a thin head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall this is a beer that only a smoke lover will like but if you do like them this will blow you away.
