Commercial Description:
Bottle & cask; Special.
NOTE: Marked batch 005 on the bottle label. Matured in a Glen Moray 1992 cask although this is not detailed on the label.
This edition sees our Imperial Stout aged for several months in specially selected Speyside malt whisky casks. This maturation process results in the whisky flavours and aromas being infused deep into our beer.

Subtle scotch here, as befits a Speyside. I’m growing tired of these beers already after just the three - they are good, but the underlying stout loses fullness from the whiskey. Tasty, but a novelty. Lingering scotch notes, nice pine still in the stout (seemingly) and roast apparent.

Pours a very dark black with tan head. Sweet malt, roasted coffee, chocolate, molasses, fruity esters, oak, and a nice touch of whiskey. Nice full bodied imp stout. Enjoyable, but expensive. #666

11.2 oz bottle, best by 06/06/09. $13 flippin’ dollars. Near black with a thin beige head. Big molasses and peat nose, mildly roasty and boozy. Tasty - a bit boozy, roasty, chocolatey and thick molasses. Interesting, but DAMN, these BrewDogs are too expensive.

Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Chocolate, coffee, and whiskey in the aroma. Sweet flavor, mainly from the chocolate. Just the right amount of whiskey. Goes down smooth, some dark fruit flavor in there as well. I enjoyed it.

This dark brown ale poured with a miniscule tan head - just a few bubbles - and a rich chocolate malt aroma. There is a lot of chocolate in the flavor too, enhanced by some nice whiskey taste. Very rich and tasty.

Provisions Market in St. Louis. This was the surprise beer of the day for me at their tasting, and one that I had knew needed to be enjoyed again to appreciate. This strikes me as similar to Old Engine Oil in that it has characteristics of an old ale and a stout together. What’s noticeable here is the blackness of the pour and the thickness of the mouthfeel, which coats the tongue. Notes of molasses and tar combine with sweet vanilla and smoke. There’s a good amount of dark stone fruits here, and the finish is warm and embracing. Great stuff.
