Bottled @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2008. Very dark brown with a small head. Not as well balanced as many of the others in the paradox series. Also a bit on the sweet side.

12oz bottle from Liquid Solutions. Pours a deep coffee brown with a small bubbly light beige head, not much lacing. Not as much peat on the nose of this one, more like bourbon. Also lots of wood tannin and chocolate. Flavor also holds lots of dry wood and cocoa, interesting. I’m glad this one is a little different than the other versions.

Tasting - Perfect Pour. Black, tan creamy head. Roasted coffee and cocoa aromas ride waves of whiskey soaked raisins and and wood. Dark coffee and oaken whiskey flavors round to a soft dark fruit bitterness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Much better than the Mcallan in my opinion. Could be perfect choice for a nice cigar pairing...

dak brown-smells like vanilla, & unground coffee beans & alcohol. thin nutty chocolate notes- yes, like nutter butter w/chocolate. scotch flavor is a bit in the background. extremely light chocolate is making me extremely happy. almond butter notes. this has competing and different flavors throughout. that always seem to work well together. 3 10 8 5 16

12 oz. bottle. Pours black with orange extremities and a small tan head. A swirl leaves nice, high legs. The aroma is brown sugar, roasted barley, vanilla, some sweet oak, and little bits of chocolate and alcohol. The flavor is rich bitter chocolate, sweet smooth Scotch, little bits of vanilla, coffee, and charcoal. Once in a while I get a pleasant smoky note. The finish is ashy and bittersweet with a coffee-ish aftertaste. This is one of the better beers in the Paradox series.

Sweet vanilla. Beer retained a thin peat/ash mouthfeel. Finish has nice notes of whiskey/wood and warming abv.

Courtesy Growler. Pours dark brown/black, with a small off white head. Smells a little bready, with good doses of whiskey, caramel, and butterscotch. The flavor is of peaty malt, some caramel and roasty malts also shine through. Toasted bitter chocolate and syrup show up in the nice long finish. A little mellowed, but the heat was definitelt there. Not as big as some of the others Ive tried, but you get more of the flavor showing up in this batch. Pretty tasty.
