FishManLA (182), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Jun 19, 2008 Well, IPA is my favorite style, and this is one of the best ones. The thing I like best about it is that they pour on the hops until any sane person would say it’s way too much... then they double them! Bright golden color with a persistent white head and lots of lacing. Nose is of bread and yeast with strong notes of floral and fruit. Taste is wonderfully complex with notes of bread, grape, banana, citrus, berries, wood, hop, and spice. Finish is in-your-face deliciously bitter over-the-top hop. This is an assertive punk!
DA (2482), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Oct 9, 2008 Pours a nice golden color, good clarity, soft white head. Hops in the nose are far from your typical NW IPA, herbal and earthy, maybe slightly grassy. Bready malts up front, soft caramel character. Finish provides a bit of fruitiness, but the hops bring back the earthen qualities. I like this beer as a lighter hopped sessionable IPA, but like the amber the price is steep for what you get, maybe a 12oz bottle might work better. waolsen (1021), Littleton, Colorado, USA Oct 9, 2008 bottle. light yellow color with thin head. funky aroma. earthy hops, barnyard, rich malts. good. Dedoulequeen07 (116), london, Greater London, England Oct 7, 2008 Golden yellow in colour with a white large head. Aroma of grapefruit, lychee, oranage, pine and plae malts. Taste is similar with a lovely bitter peppery grassy hop finish. This is very sessionable - only loser bogans disagree argo0 (6231), Washington DC, USA Oct 6, 2008 (22.4 oz bottle, batch 001, best by 1/1/09) Large white head that mostly dissipates, atop lightly hazed apple juice body. Nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, orange, some strawberry, apple, light bread, grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some strawberry, light pine. Light-medium body, some resin, nicely drinkable. JohnnyJ (678), Reno, Nevada, USA Oct 6, 2008 Pours a hazy golden yellow with medium sized white head. Citrus, grapefruit, hints of tropical fruit, pepper, and piney hops. Very nice beer, well worth the try.
