Mar 1, 2009 Bottle at the Fourth Butters’ Cellar Clearance Event. Pours a brown with thin ring of tan head. Nose of roasty raisin and light chocolate. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit, and bourbon. Sweet oakey woody finish with some alcohol. Enjoyable.

Mar 1, 2009 Bottle at Butters’ 4th Cellar Reduction. Pours a fading, not enough lace, beige head with a dark brown clear body. Smells of chocolate, caramel, and toast. Tastes like bubblegum, toast, brown sugar, and bitter chocolate. A bit thin in spots in the aroma and flavor/mouthfeel.

Feb 28, 2009 Bottle (Kaisla, Helsinki) - Black in colour with no head. Roasted and slightly fruity aroma with hops, coffee, chocolate and raisins. Lightly hoppy and soapy taste with coffee, hints of toffee and chocolate, followed by a roasted and hoppy finish.

Feb 26, 2009 (Bottled) Very dark cola brown with a smallish, but firm, beige head. Roasted malt and lots of milk chocolate in the nose, with hints of milky sourness, but also some strange, gluey-stingy-sweaty side-aroma. Sweetish-malty flavor with some licorice, and a burned-roasty charcoal finish. Medium, slightly thin body with low carbonation. In a way quite similar to Slottskällans IS, but much more rough on the edges, and not nearly as smooth and balanced.

Feb 25, 2009 Bottle, shared with JimWight. Pours a black color with a sudsy, dish soap looking head. aroma is roasty, molasses, coffee and some fruit. Flavor is also roasty and quite thin to be honest. I got some light notes of chocolate. I was underwhelmed with this.

Feb 23, 2009 Thick coal black pour,with a good tan head. Taste is very good, and complex, lots of coffee, malts and spices, quite sweet caramel like balance with a pleasant bitter burnt malt finish. Very good.

Feb 22, 2009 Bottle courtesy of tpd975. Pours a dark chocolate brown to black with reddish highlights and a thin tannish head. Aroma is malty and roasted with notes of funk, chocolate, smoke, some hints of dark ripe fruit. Flavor is malty and slightly smoky with notes of chocolate, hops, ripe dark fruit, and some hints of coffee and toffee. Generally medium body with a roasted and malty finish. Seemed a little thin with too much hop presence for me.

Aroma is malty with faint notes of smoke.
Taste has plenty of dark fruits with chocolate malts. With light bitter hoppy finish. Light and easy to drink.
