Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Nearly black body with the fiantest head I’ve seen lately. Roasted malts, chocolate, overripe dark fruit, light vanilla, and slight smoked sausage in the aroma. The body wants to be thick and creamy, but comes off a bit watery. Tastes of bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, some plum, black coffee, and burnt sugar. A decent stout BUt I have to say I was mildly disappointed.

Just OK stout from this brewery which makes some great barrel aged stuff. The stout is quaffable, its not offensive, but there is no complexity,nor bold flavours.With so many good double stouts out there, why waste your bucks on this premium priced import. A bit above average mouthfeel and black colour with a moderate head.

Bomber. Smokey malty aroma with slight caramel. Pours with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Palate is medium body, creamy, soft carbonation, bitter. Decent flavor with chocolate, candy and burnt smoke. Slightly weaker brother of Wyerbacher’s Old Heathen

Nice and smooth impy stout but lacking some of the complexity of some of the big guns. Aroma is mostly bittersweet chocolate with a tinge of plum. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Relatively quick on the finish and an almost too hopped bitterness. Creamy texture is nice.

Bottle. Black coloured with a nice light brown lacing head. Aromas of roasted malts, hops, chocolate and caramel. Flavour of coffee, dark fruit, sweet malts, licorice and bitter hops.

Pours a dark chestnut brown color with some crimson glowing at the edges. A small, frothy tan head leaves a soapy wash on the glass, scant spots remaining behind in dry form. Aromas include moderately toasted caramel, dark chocolate, sweet dark fruits, and hints of smokiness. Flavors are very similar, mostly caramello showing up front, with notes of figs and other dark fruits lending further sweetness. There is a roasty smokiness that comes through on the back end, lending balance and depth. Thin on body for the style, yet still relatively syrupy, the mouthfeel is lacking. Not bad overall, but this brew was definitely made for the Scotch barrel.

Dark color with faint head. Strong roasted malt aroma with a similar taste, though more chocolate.

Pours a nearly opaque black with dark copper edges and a thin, spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel malt with some roasted notes and a healthy dose of peat. Starts a little thin for the style, but has a decent amount of dark malty sweetness with some strong roasty bitter balance before a smoky, peaty, dark chocolate finish. Pretty smooth, yet complex and very drinkable. An interesting take on the style.
