Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Sampled on the RBSG bus, courtesy of Dr Bill. Pours a deep dark brown with aroma of nuts, dark bread, rasien, and caramel. Medium bodied but thin texture for an imperial stout. Flavor of caramel, wet grains, nuts, chocolate, and peat. Finish dry and slightly astringent, and somewhat boozy as well. This did not seem like an impy to me,

Pitch black. Again, kind of weird. Aroma of caramel and chocolate milk. Flavor is almost of brownies. Alcohol very apparent in the finish. Nice flavor, but not sure I’ll be able to finish the bottle. Mouthfeel is nice for a great ale. PS, I made it through the bottle. Re-Rate: Alcohol mellows with a bit of age. Develops a bit of pleasant sourness.

smells of alcohol and maybe a touch of caramell. dark amber color. charred, malty flavors with bitter astringency behind it. scottish tasting for sure with the maltiness going on but more on the alcoholic side rather than the thick side.. some nut skin flavors near the end. its drinkable though if nothing else.

660ml Bottle: Aroma of roasted malts, licorice, chocolate, alcohol, and hops. Poured deep red/dark brown in color with a medium-sized, dense, beige head that lasted throughout. Clear. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of roasted malts, peat, chocolate, hops, and alcohol. Medium body. Thinish, smooth, creamy texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sweet, chocolate, peat, roasted malt finish.

Pretty black. Tarry, intensely roasty aroma though not that intense in terms of intensity if that makes sense. Perhaps I should say "extremely burnt aroma at moderate intensity"? Anyway... There’s also a surprisingly vivid floral aroma, coming from hops I presume. Certainly not the kind of thing you expect in a stout, but definitely not unwelcome. Beautiful round, rich mouthfeel - a touch alkaline - kinda like Old Engine Oil only with the roastiness turned way up. Bitter chocolate, burnt toast and hints of Jamaica flowers. Very bitter. Really good stuff, it seems to have made it over here in excellent nick. I want more.

Bomber poured a clear dark brown nearly black with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of smoke, roasted malt, coffee, bitter chocolate, light graininess and a hint of vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth witrh a lightly dry finish. Flavors of smoke, roasted malt, bakers chocolate, light coffee and a hint of anise with a smooth dry lingering bitter roasty finish.
