Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Courtesy of Magic_Dave. Thanks, Tom. The aroma is sweet fresh dark fruits including cherry, prune and plum with a bit of peat and natural high cocoa content chocolate as well. Very nice aroma. The bottle is full on black and holds a thumb thick, diminishing mocha head that leaves clingy, clumpy lace. Soy, dark chocolate, cherry, milk chocolate, burnt/heavily roasted bitterness, coffee bitterness and a bit of treacle. The salty soy flavor lingers into the finish, but this can also be quite sweet and bitter at varying ranges. A very nicely done beer that at 8% is not lacking at all for complexity.

Bottle and served in my Stone IRS snifter: Basically opaque with an initial frothy tan head which fades and leaves okay lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of plum, prune, chocolate, anise, coffee, and charred malts. The taste is quite balanced with sweet malt, acidity, bitters, and some ashy and spicy notes upon the finish. While the mouth feel could use a tad more thickness, it is still smooth and very drinkable. Overall a very solid Impy.

330ml bottle, at home with renffisch, 17th June 2008. Pours a very dark, red-tinged brown. Lovely complex taste and aroma - apricots, chocolate, coffee, caramel, treacle, molasses, hops. Creamy & smooth yet not too cloying, this is a very drinkable stout indeed.

Intensely chocolatey nose. Pours slightly ruby black with a tan head. Flavour is rich and full of coffee and licorice with a long finish of cocoa underpinned with some peat and some vinousness.

Bottle, thanks after4ever! Pours opaque black with a lacy tan head. Sweet aroma of brown sugar, grain and coffee. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Sweet coffee taste, moderated by earthy hops. Somewhat astringent and smoky finish.
