Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Pours black, hint of brown or ruby, moderate light brown head with some retention. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate, hints of yeast and burnt sugar. Flavour is sweet and very chocolatey with a noticeably dry roasty/hoppy finish that has prominent notes of dark coffee. Thinner body than I would have expected for the style, but with an extraordinarily smooth mouthfeel that more than makes up for it. A cute chocolate monster indeed!

Deep brown colour. Aroma is a bit strange. Lightly briny and salty. A bit of peat with a touch of molasses. Flavour is oddly thin and watery. A touch of coffee. Meh... pretty bad.

Bottle at JoeMcPhee’s. Pours a black body with a tan head. Aroma is hoppy with some sweet malt and vanilla. Flavor is sweet chocolate and some hop character. a note of coffee and a little etoh. decent.

the most common comment is it is a low abv for an impy stout. a bit thin on flavor but not in body it is creamy and rich on the palate. not as much head as i would have liked. not sure what a cute chocolate monster is but i think i like it.

bottle with caspar. Nose of stewed apricots, burnt sugar, molasses, coffee and bitter chocolate. Pitch black in appearance with a little spotted tan rim. quite funky and tart in flavour. espresso and fresh cocoa, spicy with a lot of cardamom, all-spice and nutmeg. very grainy. Smooth and devine x

Biggish brown head does not last. Deep dark red barely translucent body. Roasty rye grain aroma with chocolatey milky notes. Sweet-dry (mostly sweet) grainy roasty chocolate taste, quite dense, with peppery hop notes. Broad, full mouthfeel, with some alcohol heat. Dry burnt alcoholic chocolate aftertaste. Very good! (0.33l bottle, Olutkellari, Helsinki.)

Bottle: Amber brown pour with a bubbly tan head. (This is Imperial?) Soft malty aroma. Dark grains, milky chocolate and a hint of coffee roast. Light body. Mildly roasted flavor with a soft malt presence. Hint of coffee, sour dough and a mild chocolate finish. Not bad, but also not an Imperial Stout.

Not bad for a stout. Oh wait, it says imperial. Ok. Anyway its got a lot of black malts and its got some burntness to it. The hops are there as well with some flavor of dried fruits wanting to come forward. A bit thin in the body, expected at 8%. It love to give it a try on cask.
