Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate, hints of yeast and burnt sugar. Flavour is sweet and very chocolatey with a noticeably dry roasty/hoppy finish that has prominent notes of dark coffee. Thinner body than I would have expected for the style, but with an extraordinarily smooth mouthfeel that more than makes up for it. A cute chocolate monster indeed! A bit of peat with a touch of molasses. Flavour is oddly thin and watery. A touch of coffee. Meh... pretty bad. Rciesla (3600), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Roasty rye grain aroma with chocolatey milky notes. Sweet-dry (mostly sweet) grainy roasty chocolate taste, quite dense, with peppery hop notes. Broad, full mouthfeel, with some alcohol heat. Dry burnt alcoholic chocolate aftertaste. Very good! (0.33l bottle, Olutkellari, Helsinki.) PilsnerPeter (2612), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 22, 2008 Bottle: Amber brown pour with a bubbly tan head. (This is Imperial?) Soft malty aroma. Dark grains, milky chocolate and a hint of coffee roast. Light body. Mildly roasted flavor with a soft malt presence. Hint of coffee, sour dough and a mild chocolate finish. Not bad, but also not an Imperial Stout. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Not bad for a stout. Oh wait, it says imperial. Ok. Anyway its got a lot of black malts and its got some burntness to it. The hops are there as well with some flavor of dried fruits wanting to come forward. A bit thin in the body, expected at 8%. It love to give it a try on cask.
