Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Black with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty with chocolate, roastiness, caramel. Taste is very roasty, espresso, smoke. Similar to Ten Fidy. Too roasty

Pours a very dark ruby with a tan fluffy head. Aroma features confected malt character with hints of green banana, astringent grain and chocolate. On the palate there is a creamy mouth feel, chunky chocolate and toffee a resiny hop note and a long balancing roasty finish. Great strong stout but not an Imperial in my opinion.

Fruity blackcurrant chocolate malt on the nose with a touch of peat, looks great in the glass. Has a very pleasing smokey chocolate dark fruit flavour with a dryish hop finish which leaves you looking forward to another sip....an immensely well conceived beer that is a pleasure to drink.

330ml brown bottle. Deep brown/black in colour. Small, creamy tan head which recedes to a swirl. Aroma is chocolately with a bit of coffee. Flavour is of dark chocolate with medium malt sweetness. Big bitter finish with roasted malt, black coffee and hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Very drinkable, though not terribly complex.

Bottled, bbe 01/2009. Dark brown to black, lacing tanned head. Nose is burned, slightly syrupy and woody, piney hops. A bit like Koff porter with more hops. Full and intensive flavor, strong liquorice, burned malt and piney hops. Sweetish, but finishes drier with grapefruity bitterness. Medium to full bodied, oily palate. Intensive and well hopped, but that liquorice gets maybe a bit too overpowering sometimes.

Pours black with a thick tan head.Aroma of cocoa, dark fruits, coffee and alcohol. Wow, this is tasty, Comes on smooth with chocolate, dark fruits and coffee, sliding very nicely into a lasting bitter coffee finish. Med-thick mouthfeel. Very nicely done! Moves fluidly from sweet start to bitter finish. Welcome to the US Brewdog!!! I’m going to a Brewdog tasting tomorrow night, and this definitely has whet my appetite.
