Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

2008-12-03, gravity dispense at Pig´s Ear Festival 2008, London, 7-4-9-4-16=40
Very dark color. It has a quite ordinary aroma, but followed by an extra-ordinary flavor, where the usual caramel and chocolate (and enough sweetness) are followed by a new flavor, maybe wood, maybe nuts, maybe chocolate, maybe pine; impossible to catch but astonishing. Excellent.

2007-09-21, bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival 2007 afterfestival at Per´s, 6-3-7-3-15=34
Dark brown to black color. Light aroma of caramel and sausage. Good body structure, good swwet caramel flavor, some sweet chocolate, round, warming, with correct bitterness. Good.

(22.4oz bottle, best by 7/7/09) Small tan head atop cola dark brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee/roast, some bittersweet chocolate, anise, light cherry. Taste is moderately sweet, roast/coffee, some smoke, faint anise. Some alcohol in the finish. Low carbonation, medium-full body, some stickiness. Very nice take, not as brash as the style has tended toward in recent years.

Cask Handpump from the Darwin Suite at the Assembly Rooms, Derby 12/07/2007 Slight roast aroma. Black strong in alcohol and smooth on the palate with some dryness in a crisp and bitter lasting roast finish.

Pale ruby color, light coffeish aroma. Malty, roasty and nicely chocolaty stout. Good roasted aftertaste.

Bottle at Chris_o Shindig. Very dark brown with tan head. That’s good. I like all of it. Aroma, mouthfeel, finish. Superb. One of the beers of the day for me.

Black/brown with a small and loose head and a low carbonation. The aroma has notes of sweet licorice, coffee and hints of smoke. The flavour has notes of sweet licorice, light smoke, coffee and a light bitterness, that develops citrus notes during the long finish. This nice beer has a good and full body!
