Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Sampled on the RBSG bus, courtesy of Dr Bill. Pours a deep dark brown with aroma of nuts, dark bread, rasien, and caramel. Medium bodied but thin texture for an imperial stout. Flavor of caramel, wet grains, nuts, chocolate, and peat. Finish dry and slightly astringent, and somewhat boozy as well. This did not seem like an impy to me,

a tad oily on the tongue, the beer has a lot of smoke with a BBQ overtone feel to it. the deep taste of smoke and slight coffee makes goes well with southern cooking. Yummy!!

Bottle, thanks Frylock. Dark brown, some light shines through. Nose is caramel, dark honey, rich dark malts, alcohol. Flavor is rich malt, roasty & lightly burnt. Some tobacco. Lingering toffee/caramel finish with nice bitterness.

Bottle from Warehouse Beverage, Cleveland Heights. A relatively powerful hit on the wallet, but hey it had a good ways to travel. The pour isn’t as thick as one might expect but it’s oily black with some decent carbonation in there (appropriate given the style I’d say) and a substantial dusky head. Lots of chocolate in the aroma, just a bit more roasts in the flavor (and a surprising amount of booziness given that it’s a relatively modest 8% abv - modest for the style at least). Definitely an interesting variation - could we call this an imperial dry stout? Nice beer.

Bottle: Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of roast and espresso. Maybe a little cocoa. Flavor is a rich blend of espresso, dark fruits, roast, molasses, and a little smokey. A feeling of the abv before the bittersweet tail. Nice.
