Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Bottle. Black with a creamy steady light brown head leaving a very good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, some liquorice and chocolate. Very good filling mouthfeel. The flavour is soft and smooth with a very nice roasty maltiness and comfortable bitterness, dark chocolate, alcohol and some liquorice. Thanks a lot for this beer yespr!

3rd LCRBM. A fast rating, because the end of the session was near. Somewhat smoked aromas and flavors detected through the roasted malt. Good stout, although I preferred the aroma to the flavor. Bottle @ home. 29.12.09. Deep dark brown color. Raisin, dried fruit and oak in the aroma. Full bodied, low on carbon. Oaky tarry flavor. Hints of peaty smoke. Dried fruit and raisin. Fairly well balanced mix of peaty tarriness and dried fruit. Could use more carbon, though.

A Mes and Sim rate (33cl bottle at Chris O’s Shindig and numerous times since.)
Dark, almost black body with a creamy tan head. Sweet perfumey aroma, dark and complex with fruit, chocolate and plenty of malt. The flavour hits you with alcohol, a bit of coffee, heavily malted and some nice balancing hops. Thick dark chocolate and coffee finish with a pronounced and pleasing bitterness. Lovely stuff.

Bottle. [thanks to the parents for bringing this home!]
Pours a deep, deep brown, almost non-seethrough. A smallish beige head on top, fizzing away rather quickly. Aroma has liquoirice, roasted malts and chocolate. Nice and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit alcohol, some mild chocolate tones, roasted malts, dry cocoa. Rather simply perhaps, but very nice. Gets much better as it heats up.
