Apr 7, 2008 25.4oz bottle, batch 001. Poured deep reddish brown with a moderate sized tan head. Aroma of liquorice, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is sweet chocolate malt at first, which is then joined by citric hops. Finish is fairly bitter, with an ashy/salty mouthfeel.

Oct 17, 2009 22 ounce bottle in snifter. Dark dark brown with brown ring and lace. Chocolate molasses dark fruit earth wood ash aroma. Chocolate fruit wood vanilla cinnamon pine forest soy with mildly roasted bitter finish. Medium body. Complex but not necessarily rich. Pretty decent.

Nov 2, 2009 Deep brown body with a fine creamy beige head what never disappears fully. Fine aroma opens with roasted grains and coffee, after a while comes some fine spicies like vanilla, dark chocolate and a moderated hop. Rich body and oily texture, fine roasted grains and dark chocolate in the flavor. Mild fruitiness and bitterness with a light caramel and dark chocolate. Long roasted aftertaste. Nice stout!!!

Jan 13, 2009 Nearly black body with the fiantest head I’ve seen lately. Roasted malts, chocolate, overripe dark fruit, light vanilla, and slight smoked sausage in the aroma. The body wants to be thick and creamy, but comes off a bit watery. Tastes of bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, some plum, black coffee, and burnt sugar. A decent stout BUt I have to say I was mildly disappointed.

Dec 30, 2008 Cola brown black with a thin whitish brown head. Aroma is caramel with spicy cola notes and roasty undertones. Clean, powerful roasty taste with well balanced bitterness that fades without ever becoming cloying. $12/750
