The aroma has a bunch of dark bittersweet chocolate in it complemented by roasted barley, anise, and molasses. There’s a fair amount of alcohol in the flavor, surprizing for a "modest" 8% ABV. The rest of the nose is in the flavor, too (That doesn’t sound right!), along with some coffee grounds. It has a sweet-yet-dry finish with a slight alcohol burn. Pretty decent brew.

Lightly toasted and roasted malt in the aroma. A touch of salt water toffee. Not a strong scent, but nothing askew. Light sweet licorice in the start. Quite enjoyable for a professed licorice hater. Middle is full of sweetened coffee, Toasted, hearty whole grain bread, blackberries and a hint of pencil eraser (resin?). Very light carbonation. Finish is lightly sweet and linger is of sweet roasted malt and some mild honey roasted nuts. I find no trace of alcohol. A very enjoyable stout. jbrus (4895), Delft, Netherlands

Poured a clear dark brown color with a large frothy brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate, dark fruit and alcohol aroma. Heavy bittersweet roasted malty flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation.
This is a very good beer.
