Jun 29, 2008 Pours black, hint of brown or ruby, moderate light brown head with some retention. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate, hints of yeast and burnt sugar. Flavour is sweet and very chocolatey with a noticeably dry roasty/hoppy finish that has prominent notes of dark coffee. Thinner body than I would have expected for the style, but with an extraordinarily smooth mouthfeel that more than makes up for it. A cute chocolate monster indeed!

Dec 6, 2009 33cl bottle at Håndverkerstuene. Batch 371. Best before 2011-04-12. Pitch black colour. Small head. notes of coffee and hints of hops. Flavour is bitter with notes og coffee, toffee and hops. A bit acidious as well. Medium long aftertaste.

Nov 3, 2009 Pours a dark brown with a soap sudsy tan head that sticks around for a while. Aroma is has a strong molasses note, chocolate malt, light dark roasted character, light citrus hops note and some sweet prune fruitiness. Flavor starts with a chocolate note, moves into a slight citrus bite, low bitter roasted malt bite and finishes with a smooth dark fruit note melded with some dark chocolate. Body is light but has a very creamy texture and the lacing coats the glass very heavily with a tan film. Overall a great brew with an overall smooth palate and a nicely hidden alcohol strength.

Apr 18, 2009 0,33 l bottle. Black, as is to be expected. Nose is dominated by liquorice, coffee and roasted malts. Flavor is mainly coffee, some soy, with a slight chocolate sweetness at the end. Very nice brew.

Feb 23, 2009 Thick coal black pour,with a good tan head. Taste is very good, and complex, lots of coffee, malts and spices, quite sweet caramel like balance with a pleasant bitter burnt malt finish. Very good.

Aug 7, 2008 A porter right up my alley: sweet and roasty aroma and a flavor to match. I like the hops in this one too, nicely grapefruity. The liquorice is also very prominent in both the aroma and the flavor, the chocolate and coffee being more dominant in the taste than in the aroma. Need to try more brewdog beers...

Jun 16, 2009 Bottle purchased at Palmer’s. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, booze and coffee. Chocolate flavor with a bit of alcohol and semi-bitter coffee on the back end.

Feb 16, 2009 Trade from TheRealBastard. Thanks! Enjoyed on Valentines night. Aroma is dark fruit, cream, malt. Dark brown/black with red tints when held to the light. Latte colored, big bubbled head. Creamy and sweet in mouth. Chocolate and coffee afters. Smooth.
