Jun 12, 2009 Pours a very dark brown color with a medium khaki head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of cocoa, mild coffee and malt. Medium, smooth body with flavors of sweet chocolate, coffee and malt. Mild hops in the background. The finish is sweet chocolate and toasted malt with a short chocolate malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

Jul 29, 2008 660ml Bottle: Aroma of roasted malts, licorice, chocolate, alcohol, and hops. Poured deep red/dark brown in color with a medium-sized, dense, beige head that lasted throughout. Clear. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of roasted malts, peat, chocolate, hops, and alcohol. Medium body. Thinish, smooth, creamy texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sweet, chocolate, peat, roasted malt finish.

Sep 3, 2008 Nearly black body with a pretty garnet edge. The large head is dark tan with lots of large bubbles. The aroma is at first quality roast coffee with some sweet pancakes. There was also a note of almonds. The taste is brash with strong coffee and dark chocolate. The finish has prunes and some bread crust. The body is nicely balance, but has a little bit of rubbing alcohol in the aftertaste along with a strong bitterness. Well made, but I would like a touch less roast.

Jul 26, 2009 Bottled. Dark reddish brown coloured. Fluffy small light brown head. Light chocolate, ligth alcohol, light roast, light cocoa. A bit subdued. Chocolate, liqourice, light herbs, light prunes and roast. Nicely balanced. Medium to full bodied. Quite dry. Sweet and fruity roasted end. Has some alcohol warmth on lips and palate.

Jun 13, 2009 This poured a black color with a beige head. The aroma contains some coffee, chocolate, and licorice. The flavor is rather bitter with some licorice, coffee, and chocolate. An odd gritty aftertaste. Overall a decent stout but not a great Impy.

Sep 9, 2007 Coca-Cola coloured, no head. Grassy, mossy, very few real stout aroma’s. Sweetish liquorice flavour, wood, plywood flavours, working to a peppery stout. Medium bodied, very slick, even oily. Quite nice stout, not too strong, but very flavourfull.
