Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

courtesy of jdubfl. pours ruby/brown, with tan head. Aroma is malty with faint notes of smoke. Taste has plenty of dark fruits with chocolate malts. With light bitter hoppy finish. Light and easy to drink.

33cl Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Dark brown to black colour, almost no head, only after a vigorous pour. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and massive amounts of liquorice root, giving it an earthy and dusty dry finish, but also a nice sweetness. Medium to fullbodied, syrupy mouthfeel.

1pt 6.4fl oz bottle. Batch 002? Best by 7/7/08 or 09? Thinking 09. Brown to black pour. Thin wimpy tan head. Smells of raisins, chocolate, coffee. Maybe some soy or licorice, but first 3 most dominant. Mouth is slick. Smooth, but medium-heavy and tad oily. Upfront chocolate and coffee. Good finishing hop bite with roast bitter. Citrus remains controlled, yet still an astringency. Dont think it’s the booze. Some woody smokiness showing up mid palate. Wonderful note, though elusive. Damn drinkable. Found this on sale. Would never pay over $8 for this bottle, and it seems that Brewdog brews carry a high pricetag. Damn tariffs and diesel! Good 1st impression, and hopefully not the last. Solid brew. Made my night.

Bottle at Butters’ 4th Cellar Reduction. Pours a fading, not enough lace, beige head with a dark brown clear body. Smells of chocolate, caramel, and toast. Tastes like bubblegum, toast, brown sugar, and bitter chocolate. A bit thin in spots in the aroma and flavor/mouthfeel.

Nose is chocolate with a hint of coffee, ebony, red at the sides, small toffee head. Taste is bitter chocolate, some fine malt, reminds me of chocolate chip cookies. Very nicely balanced, medium bodied, pleasantly sweet. Great!
