Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Nose is chocolate with a hint of coffee, ebony, red at the sides, small toffee head. Taste is bitter chocolate, some fine malt, reminds me of chocolate chip cookies. Very nicely balanced, medium bodied, pleasantly sweet. Great!

12oz bottle. Spidery loose head. Very dark beer. Thin alcohol, molasses and soy aroma. Body like silk. A drinkable IS but not a lot of depth. Smooth flavour of alcohol, molasses, soy and ginger cookies.

A deep dark stout with a thin off white head. Aroma of bitter chocolate, dust, dark fruits, and fruity esters. In mouth, a nice lightly sweet chocolate, milkey, smooth, lightly hopped but sustained burned bitterness. A bit lighter bodied than expected. Not bad. Bieropholie Imports, BB 10-02-10.

Black with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty with chocolate, roastiness, caramel. Taste is very roasty, espresso, smoke. Similar to Ten Fidy. Too roasty

Cask conditioned at Oxford Beer Fest ’07. Black with slight tan head. Looking like crude oil in a glass, this is a big thick sweet, fruity beer with a touch of cough medicine in the background. Blackberry and a hint of banana, I couldn’t get too far beyond the sweetness. Tricky for a beer fest because it stays in the mouth for some time.

25.4oz bottle, batch 001. Poured deep reddish brown with a moderate sized tan head. Aroma of liquorice, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is sweet chocolate malt at first, which is then joined by citric hops. Finish is fairly bitter, with an ashy/salty mouthfeel.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry and Blankboy, courtesy of Hogtown Harry. Pitch black, small off-white head. Mild roast aroma. Good roast taste, almost tartness if that makes any sense - there is just that much roast. Slight acidity. Full flavoured and bodied with a hint of chocolate. I liked it, but because of the overwhelming roast (and maybe because of the quality of other impy’s we had at this session) it did not really make that leap from good to great.
