Jan 13, 2009 Nearly black body with the fiantest head I’ve seen lately. Roasted malts, chocolate, overripe dark fruit, light vanilla, and slight smoked sausage in the aroma. The body wants to be thick and creamy, but comes off a bit watery. Tastes of bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, some plum, black coffee, and burnt sugar. A decent stout BUt I have to say I was mildly disappointed.

Jul 20, 2009 Appearance: Rolls out a dark brown, near black body with a smallish, bubbly, beige head.
Smell: Roasted malts with hints of unsweetened chocolate, licorice candies, coffee, and an all-around earthiness. Rich, vinous fruitiness present. Minor blip of higher alcohols. With some slight warming, the coffee notes deepen to give a touch of Kahlua.
Taste: Dark, roasty malts with flavors of baker’s chocolate and espresso with a more restrained fruitiness. An earthy roastiness pairs with the lightly herbaceous hops to provide a moderate amount of bitterness. As with the nose, a bit of added warmth helps to bring out more of the chocolate and coffee tones. A bit chalky and a touch of alcohol warmth on the roasty, bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Leans towards being relatively mild and easy-going as opposed to other stouts that are bold and brash.

Dec 3, 2007 Bottle: Poured a dark brown with light brown head. Sweet caramel with strong malt aroma. The taste was similar with caramel and chocolate malt.

May 20, 2008 Bottle at Aarhus beerfestival. Pours black with a off white head. Lots of roasted malts, chocolate & coffee. Only lightly smoked, which for me is quite pleasant. Dark fruits - plums & raisin. Quite dusty & warm. Quite good product!

Feb 5, 2009 Courtesy of THE tpd975. Pours deep brown with amber edges and almost no head. The aroma is roasty malts, mild wood and smoke to go along with a pulse of vanilla. The taste is roasty moving toward burnt malts and then into wood and mild smoky peatiness. Pretty nice stuff. It thins out into the finish. Starts bold and then finishes with smooth and light lingering notes of wood, peat, smoke and molasses.

Sep 24, 2008 Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours dark and has the exact appearance of diet coke. Nose is cocoa powder, booze, and roasted malt. Taste is like a mouthful of coffee grounds with a bit of chocolate. Very bitter. Decent mouthfeel.

Jul 21, 2009 Pours near opaque black with a small dark head. Aroma is big of roasted malts with hints of chocolate. Flavor is roasted malts with some hints of dark fruits. Not bad.
