Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Nice dark color and small off-white head. The beer is a little bit clear and has a surprisingly good drink ability for an impy stout. Still very good, but lacking complexity.

Batch 004 Best Before 09/09/09 Pitch black pour with a very thin light tan head that rims the glass but otherwise disappears. Potent roasty character with slight hoppiness and some bitter chocolate. Nice roasted malts in the taste and a nice but not overly bitter hop finish. A little one-dimensional even for a fairly classically styled RIS. Nice burnt smoke aftertaste lingers.

Bottle. Pours an opaque black with a very small light tan head. Aroma of raisin, roasted malt, burnt malt, chocolate, roasted nuts. Flavor of sweet and roasted malt up front with a sweet finish. Aroma is nice and complex but the flavor/palate doesn’t match up. Just kind of dull to me. 7/4/7/3/14 (3.5/5)

Bottle courtesy of tpd975. Pours a dark chocolate brown to black with reddish highlights and a thin tannish head. Aroma is malty and roasted with notes of funk, chocolate, smoke, some hints of dark ripe fruit. Flavor is malty and slightly smoky with notes of chocolate, hops, ripe dark fruit, and some hints of coffee and toffee. Generally medium body with a roasted and malty finish. Seemed a little thin with too much hop presence for me.

Roasted malty, coffeish aroma with quite nice milky-chocolately notes with some licorice also. Flavor is roasty, a bit burnt malty with coffee and licorice, finishing dry, ashy and just very slightly bitter. Relatively thin body.
