Appearance: A clear pale tawny orange with almost no head, but thin off-white lacing.
Nose: Sweet caramel/oxy malt. Suggestion of roasted nuts, and lots of toffee.
Palate: Moderately sweet and medium- to light-bodied. The hop edge creeps in to give an almost "tart-like" edge to the beer (no sour at all, just a similar mouth feeling). Flavors of toffee and nuts mix with a light pine sap and bark flavor and some "English Ale fruitiness." Ends surprisingly bitter given the nose, and has a moderately long finish.
Notes: A lot better after the second sip. It’s like a new spin on the English ales of yore. Ballsy session beer. tarjei (1748), Bryne, Norway

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 4, 2009 Pour is a hazy brown with a large foamy head. Aroma is lots of sweet malt with a little hoppyness in there. Flavor is some caramel malts with some brown sugar and finishes with some oily hops. A decent amber and you can tell a lot of effort goes into these beers from the brewer. Way overpriced for what it is but i did find this on sale and that puts it over the top. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2009 Bottle. Light amber body with a small sudsy, head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is light citrus and sweet malt. Flavor is toffee and caramel, fruity, followed by some decent citrus bitterness. Very soft mouthfeel but also thin and a bit watery. A little different take on things and not bad. halfshadow (1), Virginia, USA does not count | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2009 easy to drink, seems heavy for an amber, citrus/hop aroma that is well blended, caramel/vanilla flavor

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Bottle (330ml). Poured clear amber with an averaged sized, dense, frothy, off-white head which lasted well. A good tropical hop aroma with strong notes of grapefruit, pineapple, nectarines, toffee malts and some piney notes. Flavor was a medium fruit hop bitterness with passionfruit, nectarines, biscuity malts, caramel and a dry/piney finish. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry mouthfeel and a decent length finish. Decent session ale.
