scraff (1656), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Jul 3, 2008 Tasting - Perfect Pour. Orange, thin white head. Nose held soft elements of milk chocolate coated grapefruit and hints of toasted caramel grains. Moderate floral citric bitterness balances on a light sweet caramel backbone. A touch of fruitiness round this out well. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Nice for sessions if not for the price tag...
LooseCannon (643), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Aug 29, 2008 22.4oz bottle, Batch 001 best before 01/01/09. Pours cloudy amber in color with foamy off white head. Aroma sweet, malty and hoppy. Taste of malty, caramel, roasted nuts and bitter hops with bitter finish. soyorganic (117), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottle: pours an orange brown color with a sweet plum and prune smoked aroma. First taste has the sweetness and almost smoked flavor of what you would expect from the aroma followed by hops that put an end to the sweet taste and leaves a dry hop aftertaste. The aroma is almost my favorite thing about this beer. I am not that fond of the finish as I feel it takes away from the other flavors. One of the best ambers I have had though. yngwie (3454), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours a slightly pale amber body with a decent beige head. Caramel-malty aroma with some oxidation. Probably cellared too warm. Caramel and oxidation in the flavor too, as well as a nice piney hoppyness. Sure nothing speical about it, but a highly drinkable beer on the malty side. Would like to try it again. (080811) Beer_2000 (1179), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 23, 2008 330ml bottle. Amber body with a beige head. Aroma has malt and caramel. Flavor is malt, caramel, hops and fruity. A bit oxidized as well, but not really annoying. Quite straight forward but nice. Thaichile (590), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA Aug 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deeper amber whose head disappears rather quickly. Nose is sweet roasted malts. Flavor is a continuation of the malt profile. I was anticipating more hops but there was only a trail of bitterness in the finish. A very run of the mill, average beer. Thanks to theisti for the bottle.
