Leaves lace spidering. Slightly roasty, slightly lagerish aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Understated carbonation, which is good. A little mollasses, only slightly sourish. A little drying. Decent interpretation of style. jerc (3936), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Pours dark brown with a very small head.
Aroma is very rich with sweet roasted malt showing dark chocolate, toast, and espresso.
Flavours are similarly rich, but not as sweet, and include more espresso and burnt toast, followed by a lingering roasty finish with a prominent, but not sharp, bitterness.
Light body and carbonation work well with the clean lager flavours. madquacker (719), Canberra ACT, Australia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Nice balanced and soft flavour with plenty of black aniseed grip. Nice and unstated but good. Smooth. Like oil to look at. Rodders (123), Norwich, Norfolk, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Came in a big box BrewDog sent me for buying 20 of their beers at Sainsburys.
Pours black with virtually no off whit ehead. Nutty, slight coffee smell with some wine and red fruit notes. Taste is much the same with some chocolate and tiny bitter coffee. Clean, fresh, but a little thin and watery. Not BrewDog’s best, but not a bad beer. MrBeachtwig (44), Sandared, Sweden
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Bottle 33cl. Dark almost black with beige medium lasting head. Aromas is roasted malt with some hints of chocolate (and anis?). Taste is more roasted malt and again some chocolate, but a bit too thin. I like that it is an organic beer. simoneopazz (51), , Italy
