12oz tulip at the brewpub. Weird soy sauce, ginger and malt nose. Otherwise, a touch of butter sauteed hazlenuts and some cream. Pours a dense ruddy-brown, with a thin rim of white. Weird flavor. Immeadiately a reduction to terse nutty glutamates over a brief and thin light lactic acid character. It tastes like they fermented a standard nut brown with Belgian Yeast and then stuck it in a barrel with peach juice. Finishes with a confused amalgam of juicy fruit yeast character, a bit of barrel and some cocoa nibs. A rather strange introduction to this brewery.
