On tap at the brewpub. Aroma comes strongly in honey, fresh crystal malt, whoppers and new grain. Nice. Pours a darker golden-orange, with a froth of white up top. Thin and metallic. I’m starting to detect a trend here. Thinness. There’s a strong raw grain character to this beer, with just an edge of lactic. Lots and lots of tannic Crystal malt dominating the profile of this beer, which is just fucking weird for the style. A slightly bitter and salty finish. Peanut husks. Watery drinkable. Way off style, a nip unclean, and some dirtiness. All downhill from aroma and appearance. There’s so many Crystal malt tannins in this beer it feels like I’ve been holding oversteeped black tea in my mouth for three days. Gross.
