pivnizub (3770), Porúří, Germany Apr 13, 2008 On tap at the "U medvidku", Praha: Deep amber coloured, quickly vanishing beige-brownish head; dried fruit, roasted malt in the sweet-caramelly nose; full sweet flavour, full bodied, a bit sirupy; leather and tobacco in the sweet finish, rounded by a shy bitter aftertaste. Absolutely not my cup of tea, but a very interesting cough-syrup....
ElGaucho56 (369), USA Aug 16, 2008 33cl bottle marked 38/450, aged about a year. Pours a very deep burgundy with a quickly dissipating offwhite head. Nose is full of tart cherries, balsamic vinegar, and a slight oakiness. Syrupy body along with red wine-like tannin character, vinous and tart, with a honeyed sweetness, finishing quite clean bit still sticky with minimal hop presence but an almost quinine-like bitterness. Quite underrated. DSG (835), Yuvalim, Israel Aug 8, 2008 (6/23/08) Bottle at the brewpub in Prague. Deep reddish-amber with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, dark fruits hints and honey. Very sweet flavor with caramel, sugar and maybe some toasted notes. Medium to full-bodied, slightly syrupy. Maybe slightly too sweet but still good. swooper (19), Kladno, Czech Republic Aug 6, 2008 the strongest beer from CZ Prague mikrobrewery, very much alcohol inside but not so sweat like Primátor double 24 KnutAlbert (2164), Oslo, Norway Jul 21, 2008 Bottle brought home from Prague.
Stron vinous aroma and flavour. Syrupy. Port, candy sugar, nothing bitter to balance the sweetness. More of an experiment than a truly successful beer. thewolf (3490), Kolding, Denmark Jul 14, 2008 Bottle, bought and enjoyed @ U Medvídků, Prague.
WOW! How is this a 3.01 beer? Pours a wonderful muddy red with a very small, creamy yellow head that almost disappears as I pour. I don’t know what to expect from this apart from the label saying 12,6 %. Very nice aroma of strawberries, caramel and green apples. Some maltiness behind it, but all seems to gel extremely well - no sign of alcohol. Low carbonation and very oily mouthfeel. Flavour is extremely fruity, the strawberries again coming to the fore, some apples again and now raspberries. Also pineapple and caramel. Quite vinious, but nowhere do I feel 12, 6 % (until I get up and try to balance on the bar). So sad that this is rated so low.
